Water Restrictions

Boil Water Notice

Date: 10/16/18

Travis County WCID # 18 experienced a power outage that resulted in a loss of water pressure to a limited number of customers. In accordance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) drinking water rules and regulations, Travis County WCID # 18 is notifying customers in the areas effected, listed below, of the need to boil their water prior to consumption. This is a precautionary measure advised due to low water pressure. The water service has already been restored.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will post notification that the water is safe for consumption on the districts web site tcwcid-18.org. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact James Wills at 512-246-1400.
