District-wide Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued – 1:30 pm
Travis County W.C.I.D. 10 experienced a large water line break at its McConnell pump station this morning. As a result, a large number of customers found themselves with low pressure or without water. The leak has now been stopped and repairs are underway. Because of the difficulty in identifying which homes and businesses were affected, be advised that everyone served by the district is on a system wide precautionary boil water notice. Residents are asked to boil all water used for cooking and drinking until good lab results are returned.
Any water recovered from plumbing systems intended for drinking, cooking or ice production, should be boiled before drinking or cooking in accordance with TCEQ guidelines. For mandatory boil water language, please visit the District’s website at www.waterdistrict10.org.
For updates, visit us online at www.waterdistrict10.org.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, Travis County WCID #10 will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, Travis County WICD #10 will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.
